Fair questions, straight answers
Everything people ask Ana before their first visit — insurance, prices, the fear thing, the kids thing. If your question isn't here, call (208) 555-0148 and ask a human. She's better than any FAQ page anyway.
Do you take my insurance?
We work with most major PPO plans — Delta Dental, Blue Cross of Idaho, Cigna, MetLife, and others — and we file the paperwork for you. Call with your plan details and Ana will verify your benefits before your visit so the estimate you see includes what insurance actually covers. If you don't have insurance, the Juniper Plan ($29/month) covers your cleanings and takes 20% off everything else.
How do prices work at Juniper?
Every treatment gets a written price before we start — that's a founding rule, not a slogan. Exams and cleanings have flat prices, and anything Dr. Castillo recommends comes as a printed plan with each item costed. You approve it, or you don't, or you take it home and think about it. The number on the paper is the number on the bill.
Can I really get in the same week?
Yes — we deliberately keep same-week capacity open for new patients and hold same-day slots for emergencies. Boise offices quoting six-week waits usually have one dentist stretched across too many chairs. We book real appointment lengths, run on time, and protect openings. Call Monday, be seen by Friday. Usually sooner.
I'm scared of the dentist. Like, actually scared.
You're in the majority, and you're why the studio works the way it does: numbing before anything, ceiling TVs, noise-canceling headphones, a raise-your-hand-and-we-stop rule that's honored instantly, and zero lectures. Tell us when you book. We'll go at your pace, explain everything before it happens, and if all you can manage on visit one is sitting in the chair — that's a successful visit one.
What's the Juniper Plan?
Our in-house membership for people without dental insurance: $29 a month gets you two cleanings, exams, and routine X-rays a year, free emergency exams, and 20% off all other treatment. No deductibles, no waiting periods, no denial letters, cancel anytime. About a third of our patients use it — self-employed folks especially.
Are you accepting new patients?
Yes, enthusiastically — and the new-patient visit (exam, X-rays, cleaning) is $129 flat. Book online or call, and Ana will find you something this week. Bring your questions and your dental baggage; we've heard it all and judged none of it.
Is Juniper a chain?
No, and we're a little smug about it. Juniper is owned by Dr. Maya Castillo, who grew up off Hill Road and works in the building every day. No private-equity owners, no regional production targets, no corporate scripts. When the dentist owns the practice, the only person she answers to is you — and her sister at the front desk, who is honestly tougher.
What are your hours?
Monday through Thursday 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Friday 7:00 AM to 1:00 PM. The 7:00 AM slots are beloved by commuters — cleaning first, desk by 8:30. Same-day emergency slots are held every day we're open, and there's an after-hours line for true emergencies.
Do you see kids?
We love seeing kids — first visits are free under age 3, and the whole studio is built to make young visits easy (ceiling cartoons, flavor choices, a strict no-forcing policy). Lots of families book blocks so everyone's done in one trip. Kids who grow up coming here don't develop the fear their parents are still unlearning.
What if I need something you don't do in-house?
For the rare cases beyond our walls — complex oral surgery, some root canal retreatments, orthodontics beyond Invisalign — we refer to a short list of Boise specialists we know personally and would send our own family to. We'll call ahead, share your records, and follow up after. You won't be handed a name and wished luck.
Ready for a dentist you don't dread?
Same-week visits are real here. New patients: exam + X-rays + cleaning — $129 — and you'll know every price before we start.
